I found that suspend/hibernate are trouble. But specially KDE/Plasma is
problematic. While Manjaro Plasma refuses to work, Manjaro i3 gives
Suspend (to Disk, assume) out of the box. Everything else so far is
working very good.
Another observation: Monitor flickering occurs when Power is connected
.

Tested Ubuntu 18.04.03 LTS. There were no soft lockups. Only error
messages in journalctl, complaining about ivrs 4 and 5. Also booted a
live iso of MXLinux 18.3 with no issues as well. The new bios update
seems to do .. something.
How to update the BIOS:
Click "DH5JV115.exe" under Winodows mode
Interesting. It does Boot with acpi_osi=Linux, but dmesg/systemctl still
shows complaints about IVRS 4 and 5. Did we already establish some
commands to verify the full functionality of ACPI of this model?

It might be interesting that I can boot without pci=noacpi / noapic on
an installation of gentoo/openrc on all recently-ish kernels. Soft
lockups seem to be triggered on almost all distributions while the
systemd service udev hangs. I will test it out, since BIOS update 1.11
did not help any.

I've changed the port and was then able to finish the update
installation by typing sudo dpkg --configure -a. After that I reverted
back to my former port (it wasn't 22) and it works fine now.

For me the issue seems to be cause as the VMhost for this Ubuntu guest has
netskope / goskope.com installed and https traffic is inspected by way of a
wildcard certificate.
So yes, there is an issue with the cert, but it should be possible to manually

I understand that people who do not write texts with "ã", "ñ" etc.
rather like to type "~" directly, e.g., in path names or LaTeX source.
However, transferring the "~" dead key to a "legacy" keyboard layout
(14.04 release) gives the impression that the option to use "~" as an

The package is obviously outdated and incompatible with some libs.
Compiling it myself using the current sources from ubuntu builds a starting an
running xmlcopyeditor.
So someone who is able to rebuild the package and put it into the
ubuntu-repository should do just this.

I seem to suffer from the same problem, so here is what I could find out

The solution in comment #29 worked for me in 12.04. However, one of my
accounts still had problems (while other accounts on the same machine
worked OK). It turned out that there was a local smb.conf file in the
.smb directory of the account's home directory. I simply removed the
entire .smb directo

I see a similar problem here after upgrading from a working 10.04 setup
with nfs mounted home directories and ldap user database and kerberos
authentification. Weh using lightdm, the systems seems to hang. When
starting gdm, the login is taking place but the gnome/unity sessions are
not started. Wh
This fixes the SDBC problem, right? This will help a lot because we then
can return to SDBC. However, it might be interesting to look into the
JDBC slowness issue, independently of SDBC.

only ~5.500 rows. Anyway, the effect is observable also with much
simpler tables and the respective forms.
