mentioned in my previous comment it is resolved in latest ubuntu
versions (=i havent encountered the same bug or any bug with suspend
mode anymore)

I run precise now, and there the issue has never occurred anymore. I
have no means at the moment to test the Maverick version with Kernel
upgrades. For all i know, it has been resolved with newer kernels
because since new versions of Ubuntu I haven't got this error anymore.

OK I have read some forum posts on this and tried some stuff out. I
think the bug should be fairly easy to be fixed. When I keep the card in
the slot reader and reboot my computer the card reader is recognized and
I can access the contents on the card as it should be.

I cannot test it anymore. I reinstalled my laptop and installed the
AMD64 Ubuntu lucid where Gwibber seems to work just fine. The bug
occurred on 32bit version. Unless other people notify the same bug and
report/assign it maybe it was just my setup.

After running:

all my partially installed updates got installed and configured. Only
the Akonadi dependent packages failed to install and seem to be broken.

Impossible to install
I run intrepid, and have exactly the same issue... in approx 6 hours it
crashes 5 times average... without error notification. It just silently
shuts the program down. The behavior with the enter key is true
sometimes it happens when i just typed a message and on send *poof*
pidgin is gone. But i h
