rfkill block bluetooth
to startup applications.
Since both the gnome applet and rfkill use /dev/rfkill the applet should

To clarify, the systems I tried were upgraded from maverick with OO to
natty to LO, no LO ppa used.
libreoffice-java-common seems to be a suggests on the libreoffice-writer
package in natty - so I believe not installed by default?

strace -e trace=process -f firefox indicates that firefox is trying to
start transmission as transmission-gtk. at least for me, manually
