Binary package hint: metacity
When You enable Metacity compositing in the gconf-editor the gnome panel gains
a nice shadow.. When you restart Ubuntu the composited shadow disappears until
you disable and then re-enable Metacity Compositing in the gconf-editor.

The ov51x-jpeg-source driver is no longer compatible with ubuntu due to
the bump to 2.6.27. It now fails to compile and as a result webcam's
which use the driver like my creative vista vf0330 webcam is no longer
compatible with ubuntu.

I have also been suffering from this issue since the first hardy
alpha... I have an AMD dual core 64bit machine with nvidia graphics
card, two sata drives and the nvidia sata controller on my gigabyte
motherboard. I'm going to try the all_generic_ide option to see if that
does anything. Never had a

after reinstalling ubuntu feisty the original problem has started to acure
again. in network my wireless card comes up as wifi(0) or something like
that but its listed as a wired network, I applied all the updates to feisty
and am now baffled at how it worked out of the box once but not again. When
I can clarify this, jackd is not installed along with ardour when you get it
through the repository. ardour refuses to run giving the error " Ardour coul
not connect to JACK. There are several possible reasons: 1) Jack is not
running. 2)Jack is running as another user, perhaps root. 3) there is
