I've also lost automount for USB memory keys, using Tribe 5 on a
Thinkpad T61.
I'm not sure if his followed kernel upgrade, but there was one a couple
of days ago, so it certainly might be.
I suggest that this is a pretty serious issue if its widespread.

auto mount doesn't work for rem
Confirm that this issue persists as described on my Thinkpad T61 with
Gutsy Tribe 5 and subsequent updates (to date of posting).
The python script fix fixes it for me, and I've made the "fix"
persistent after reboot by adding the script as a Startup Program in
System | Preferences | Sessions.

Confirmed on my Thinkpad T61 running Gutsy Tribe 4 with all updates (as
at 22 August 07)... the wireless light never does anything. Works as
expected under Vista.

I spent half of yesterday wasting time on this problem till I stumbles
on teh solution outlined above.
Shouldn't xserver-xorg-video-intel be bumped out as an upgrade? Sure
