Confirm that this issue persists as described on my Thinkpad T61 with Gutsy Tribe 5 and subsequent updates (to date of posting). The python script fix fixes it for me, and I've made the "fix" persistent after reboot by adding the script as a Startup Program in System | Preferences | Sessions. Ton
