Using Ubuntu 24.04, we are hitting a bug in gnome-shell 46.0 which is
fixed in 46.1. This issue is hit quite randomly and rarely in our
environment, so i am not able to provide reliable reproducer. The issue

For what it's worth, the problem is that the game .so files are compiled
without `-fvisibility=hidden` causing all symbols in the shared objects
to be global which then causes some sort of symbol conflict on load and

After upgrading from Kubuntu 14.10 to 15.04 (final) booting fails. Only
console greets me. Lots of errors "read-only file system". I can see my
files with ls. But nothing works.
Selecting the upstart boot from the additional boot options boots
normally.
Essentially this happ
journalctl -b just says "No journal files were found." when booted
successfully with the upstart. I'm unaware where or when I should type
this to get the output you need.

I upgraded from Kubuntu 14.10 to 15.04 release and was greeted with this
problem. I don't think also that "Invalid" flag is correct here. A real
problem. Black screen on boot after update is not nice. Fortunately I
found this -> selecting upstart boot I was able to get the system
working.

Hi, I've got the same problem like Paul. Ubuntu 14.04.1 32-bit, laptop with ATI
4379 Serial ATA Controller (designed by Silicon Image) and a SanDisk SSD.
I already inserted a SiI3512A in a Desktop-PC with the same results, HDD works
fine, SSD can't be accessed in any way.
