I did not remove Tomboy.
In fact, now I tested it, I can confirm the number of wakeups does not increase
when I open it.

Right now the visual artifacts still exist.
My guess is that the ATI drivers are the problem.
I can't give you any outputs right now, because I'm not in Ubuntu, but I'll try
to remember doing so.
I tried installing the latest ATI drivers before, but that did not help.
