I have the same issue. The right click menu Paste option is greyed out
when connected to a remote SFTP server through Nautilus.
If I don't have files copied to my clipboard, the Paste option is greyed
and cannot be clicked (when you hover on it there is no coloured
selection bar).

The wave file identified by Paul Vinson Brown is the one played on my
machine when coming back from suspend. This is a poor choice of error

The beeping I mentioned could not have been a notification sound, it is
more like the sound made when undocking without first pressing the
