Just add the backports checkbox to the updates tab when selecting
repositories in synaptic package manager. Then refresh the package list
and install linux-backports-modules
I guess it's unsupported &c, but having sound is cool.

now without any further actions on my Dell Precision 4300!

I must agree with the above comments that fancyheadings.sty certainly
should not be removed - backwards compatibility is of paramount
importance: I must be able to compile my old docs without jumping
through hoops. Not including it will waste several peoples' time down
the line.

I'll confirm: using kernel 2.6.22-14.46 and modules 2.6.22-14.37: no
sound on a new Dell Precision 4300. It is not detected at all as a sound
device: asoundconf list shows nothing.
