I also got a _pretty_ slow Thurdebird and after investigating found a
190G ImapMail folder.
I deleted the files and upgraded from 16.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 to
17.0+build2-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 from default repo. Now (after two days) the
ImapMail seems to stay way smaller and Thunderbird faster all
Kernel.org bug report [1] done.

I installed fresh xubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-amd64 and installed both as
described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . With the
kernel 3.2.0-31 and shutdowns (see my P.S. section :) did not work.
I installed the Mainline kernel as adviced.

If I shutdown as root the other active user acounts should not bother in
anyway. However I did tested logging out and shutting down the computer
only as root. Did not make any difference. The problem is still there.

When I do "shutdown -r 0" as root boot is executed nicely. Says "*Will
now reboot" and reboots.
On the other hand when I do "shutdown 0" as root the last message in
standard output is "*Will now halt..." and then comes Mr. Freeze. I can
even hear the hardrive shutting down but then it just freezes

I have tried to kill all wireless devices and programs and disable
modules. Nothing seems to work.
Yesterday I installed 11.10 Xubuntu again (to Lenovo S205) with the same

Hibernate, suspend and shutdown all freezes to the same situation.

I got a same problem in my Lenovo S205 (jamms in shutdown) and I have
tried all suggested solutions here [1] and above without any success.
Hopefully someone get this fixed.
