I tried the above in my environment (in Jaunty), and it made acroread
work but broke firefox. The 64-bit firefox 3.0.13 gives up

Music Brainz. Sound Juicer displays "Could not findbyon

I see this too. A temporary workaround: run gconf-editor and go to apps
/ metacity / global_keybindings. You can edit the keybindings for
switch_to_workspace_N for N = 1 through 12.
