It seems that the driver only finds AP's using channel 1-11. Changing
the AP to within this range it finds it and network is working again.
I was fooled by the atheros and iwl3945 drivers ability to see and use
channel 12 and 13.

Thanks Thomas!
I've tried it out and it seems to work out just okay. Not that it is perfect, I
still have to disable/enable networking through network-manager before it
re-associates to my AP, after resume from suspend or hibernation.
But now at least I have a way to make it work without reboot

Public bug reported:
When resuming from suspend or hibernation I'm not able to associate with
an access point. I can see all available AP's but it refuses to connect
to them. That goes for both wide open and WPA protected AP's.
I've tried putting ipw3945 into /etc/default/acpi-support module list
just added a simple change to the script to make it more flexible.
Instead of:
echo Killing dhclient3 and ipw3945d
killall dhclient3
killall /sbin/ipw3945d-2.6.19-7-generic
I made it:
echo Killing dhclient3 and ipw3945d
killall dhclient3
killall /sbin/ipw3945d-`uname -r`

Still my Ubuntu desktop is way faster than my Windows.
It's a pain every time you have to do the "cli solution" to get
something at the desktop working. I like the idea of having a cli backup
but the GUI should also work, it is a desktop non the less.
