Would someone be able to indicate how to get a full backtrace &
coredump? That could be useful in getting the reason of the crashes?

Dell XPS 13 9380 - Screen brightness flash
Thanks & sorry for belated response. I've never manually installed a new
kernel (and am not sure how to proceed about checking integrity, etc.).
Is there any resource you'd advice to get info on the topic? Thanks in
advance. For now I can confirm that since I added this to the kernel
options, I hav
Hello, I might have the same issue here, though, I have noted that from
the time of the crash it seems to be at shutdown, however I am notified
when I next boot the laptop. Perhaps others could check if the time does
show that at startup or shutdown? Please see log attached for the latest
crash.

So it seems that it does away with the following kernel option:

It seems from some Dell user forum that some have had the same issues on
Windows and disabling the panel self refresh worked for them so I was
searching along these lines.
I'm certain it's not a "clean" fix however

the OEM version and 19.04 since I suspect that Dell might have addressed
this issue in their version. I have a list of all packages that were on
the OEM but that might be tedious. If we contacted Dell directly, would

Hello all, I believe that I have this same bug, also after a 19.04 fresh

kindly directed me here.
Of note, I am glad you tried wayland as I wanted to try if that made any
difference. I ha

Hello, I have commented on the following:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1826125 which might
be related. As said there, I owe a XPS 13 9380 (with Intel 620) and have
some flickering issues as well (Ubuntu 19.04, fresh install, not the OEM
version)

Hello, I would like to note that I think that I also have something
related to this bug - although with the normal 1920x1024 panel (on XPS
13 9380) with a fresh Ubuntu 19.04 install (so kernel 5+) - I did not
test the OEM Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
The screen "flickers" from time to time (perhaps linked to
Same issue with the kernel aforementioned (3.19.0-30-generic) on Ubuntu
GNOME 15.04.
Oddly booting with that kernel in recovery mode gets the keyboard to
work (tried to fix dpkg from there but it can't download package,
although it seemed there was one package missing).
