Public bug reported:
Installed on VirtualBox using qCOW. Installation worked flawlessly.
Rebooted and attempted to login. Input password and clicked the button,
but was returned to the login screen. Changed to Ubuntu on Wayland and
was able to login.

Has there been any movement on this? I can confirm it's also happening
on a fresh installation of Ubuntu-Gnome 16.10 LTS. :-(
