Just a note that Canon LiDE 210 scanner has worked perfectly for me in
both Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04, out of the box with the included Document
Scanner (3.36.3) program, without having to install programs or drivers.
It just works.

If I open a program, it opens right away, as expected. But it takes

Also getting an org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Color.desktop error using
Ubuntu 18.04 with Nvidia graphics card, no Chrome Desktop installed. The
Desktop drops into a black screen, with this text:
dev/sda1: clean, 123456/1234567 files, 1234567/12345678 blocks
I can get back into Ubuntu by pressing Alt+
