Discovered today that the thread I posted to on prior days was a
duplicate to this thread, so now I'm updating here. This bug with my
system first appeared August 9th. Yesterday I decided to go ahead and
install whatever updates were there (even though I could not see 'what'
the updates were since
Update: Although the 'software updater' continued to show only the blank
white box, but indicated there was updates to install I went ahead and
ran it through the installation process.
With the plain white box there was no way to see 'what' the updates
would be. But, after selecting 'install', the
** Attachment added: "InstallerBroke.png"

Same problem this morning for me. Shows 6.0 MB will be downloaded, but
when I click on "Details of Updates" under "Install and Remove" there's
nothing there - just a blank white box. Today is the first time I've had
this challenge. I decided to not select 'install' since I cannot see
what it may be
