Same thing on 32bit Lucid.
I tried to disable IPv6
sudo mv /lib/modules/2.6.32-308-ec2/kernel/net/ipv6{,.off}
because i saw references to it in the segfault message in the console log,
but it didnt make any change.

I have Jaunty (Netbook Remix) here with the same problem.
I use blueman instead of bluez to establish PAN networking.
I tried blueman in both of its modes
- blueman handles the interfaces
- let the network manager handle the interfaces
In both cases i experience the resolv.conf being overwritten
