I guess you are trying to isolate when the problem started. This
hewlett packard HP8560w is a new notebook just started selling beginning
of 2012.
after installing http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/ I can't access the
internet. Same ADSL modem with the same hardware setup nothing is

. It is just that i need not repeatedly do a reboot
so my statement earlier that said quantal has no problem i got to delete
it. Please advice what to do next after your careful analysis.
