I have a similar problem, but I installed directly 7.04. My Apache2 works for .html files but does not for .php. I think I installed all the relevant packages for PHP5: libapache2-mod-php5, php5-cgi and all implied packages. I expected a file like php5.conf and php5.load to appear in my /etc/apach
