Would anyone like to test the 5.56 version with upstream patches? I
have it backported to bionic and focal here:

Public bug reported:
The code has had a new home on github for a while now
(https://github.com/sarnold/) with the approval and some feedback
from the original author (Tim Littlefair). The current release is 3.1.6
and it would be really nice to get it updated for at least
bionic->newer. Now th
PING: can you just update your LTS package to 2.0.8 please? The
current one is *broken* on armv7. Thanks.

Sorry, if I follow these instructions:
"UnreportableReason: This is not an official Ubuntu package. Please
remove any third party package and try again."
then it is impossible to login and do any of this stuff using the
desktop. Is there some info I can collect manually via a console login?

Seriously, this is almost a year old. What is the resolution? Where
are the upgraded pkgs? Leaving it to some unknown number of users to
devise their own out-of-band solution seems like a really bad idea when
all we really need is a current stunnel package built against the
current openssl lib.
My problem sounds like comment #20 exactly: with no SIM card (yet) and
a fresh mako image of stable/ubuntu-developer I have no DNS at all after
connecting to WIFI. Manual fudging of resolv.conf makes things work
again. I'll install the log viewer next...

Okay, I decided to go ahead and create a couple of ppas and this seems a
bit better than attaching a bunch of bin pkgs:
https://launchpad.net/~nerdboy
The fix for this is in the despktop package ppa but it looks like only
x86/x86_64 packages are built (even though I did the deb pkg updates on
ARM)
Package 3.

Had to find my beaglebone and LTS card, but I went ahead and back-ported
the patch to upower_0.9.23 (and did my best to follow the gist of the
deb/ubuntu packaging stuff). Attached are the packages.
