Just asking if this is the problem I have:
I have Chromium as a favorite in my gnome panel on the left side. After
some time the indication of the running Chromium windows disappears
(like no Chromium is running at all - clicking the shortcut on the left
just opens a new window). When pressing ALT

I upgraded from 16.04.3 (amd64) to 17.04 directly and stumbled on this
problem.
/usr/lib/NetworkManager/conf.d/10-globally-managed-devices.conf had the
wrong configuration:
[keyfile]
unmanaged-devices=*,ex
The problem persists if you upgrade from 16.04.3 directly to 17.04 ( as

I installed Ubuntu 15.10 (32bit) fresh and clean on my Dell D620. It
loaded the b43 module but no wireless was working, also nothing showed
up in the additional driver list to install afterwards.
So if you want it just working (without bcmwl-kernel-source for now) you
just have to:
sudo apt-get i

with unetbootin.
you are correct, with unetbootin your solution is working. but not with
usb-creator-gtk.

I tried your suggestion with forced installing of syslinux_6.03+dfsg-
5ubuntu1_amd64.deb - but the boot error remained also after a restrart.

@ber the frustrating bug you mentioned is fixed with a patch you
have to apply yourself. it happens with hybrid graphics and the
proprietary nvidia driver.
workaround is to use a usb mouse instead of the touchpad.

So after 13 hours and about 45 minutes it the system hung up again, all
frozen expect mouse movement - i could connect to my PC and added dmesg
(and lspci and uname -a) to this attachment...
