I don't know about the others, but the last couple of days no crashes

fixed the issue.

Not sure if I agree with the 'no big deal'. A crash is one thing, a crash that
takes a complete session down instantly seems like a bit of a (critical) deal
breaker, no?
Also, since yesterday my symptoms have changed, now X crashes and the screen
just stays black. Interval went from hourly to tw
Hi,
As of today this started happening to me too, intervals of hours or minutes.
I'm on Kubuntu 15.04, also running xorg-edgers. My hardware is a Surface Pro 3
i5-5300 (Intel GPU). I'd be happy to supply any logfile that would come in
handy.

Seriously?
After more than 3,5 years you want more info? Enlighten me... What else did you
want to know?
Maybe I can dig up an old CD somewhere...

I second that, I can understand the behaviour on servers or other
mission critical systems, but there seems to be no point forcing an fsck
for such an issue on either desktops or mobile systems. Would be cool to
be able to enable/disable this feature with a mount option (eg.

I'd have to take a look, but from memory it was from 2 or 3 days ago. I
guess just out of habit I just downloaded the daily spin, will the beta
be different? (I can try it later this day if you like)

I can confirm this, it is, in my opinion, a pretty nasty user experience
actually!
My user experience:
1. Switch new PC to linux (note, the system clock was set to local (Amsterdam)

2. Drop my shiny new daily build Karmic Netbook Remix cd in the drive,

Same here when installing Xubuntu Desktop Karmic AMD64 with debootstrap
and tasksel on Karmic AMD64 (updated 31/07/2009). Manually installing
the packages won't work.

Another confirm here, this is indeed high on my 'not done' list, right
up there with apple and microsoft...
Please at least give users advance notice before doing stuff like this
AND give the user the option to 'opt out'.

i386 Jaunty (2009-04-6-7) I needed to run 'kolab_bootstrap -b' to
generate a default config. This failes with a message containing
'/etc/kolab/rootDSE.ldif: Permission denied'.
My update to the latest version failed as wel (Ubuntu Jaunty x86_64) due
to a minor error in the initscript. I fixed it as following:
edit the init.d script:

This can be observed in every release I tested, from hardy to jaunty (updated

Steps to replicate:
1. Open up the 'Appearance' dialog, go to the 'Font' tab, click 'Details' and
change the DPI (for instance 200 to get a go

I'm by no means a programmer, but anyhow I tried to change some stuff to
get the fglrx module to compile on x86_64, in firegl_public.c:
Line 1560:

Line 4659 & 4678 (don't know if this is sane to do):

How I got the Hardy xorg running on Intrepid:
1. Move /etc/apt/sources.list => intrepid.list & create a hardy list
mv /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/intrepid.list
cp /etc/apt/sources.list.d/intrepid.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hardy.list

That can be solved with pinning the xserver.
Doesn't compile here either (Intrepid AMD64, 2.6.27-3-generic)...

The change needs to be made in the guest OS (quite logical since it also
