I’ve found out something about this bug:
If you use parameter “-q 0”, netcat won’t print the result. This is a bug.
But if you use something else like “-q 1” or something like that, the output
will be correct.
A Ubuntu specific patch changes the default value of parameter -q to the
“bad” value 0
I can confirm this bug.
This bug affects Lucid and also Karmic (and most likely Jaunty and
Intrepid, because the package version is the same).

I'm also unable to install eclipse via apt-get. The package eclipse is

I think the problem has nothing to do with the Software Center, but
maybe it should display a more precise error message?

I tried to fix this bug and it's not really a big bug, because there
must be changed only one line.
This is my first bug I'm fixing for Ubuntu, so please be patient :)
The debdiff I've create is quite long, and I trimmed it a little bit

I don't know how the process goes on, ma
I had the same problem. The (same) script worked in Intrepid, too. The behavior
of /etc/rc.local must have changed in Jaunty.
My solution is to use start-stop-daemon:
start-stop-daemon --start --name acerfand --startas
/usr/local/bin/acerfand --background
I don't know if it is important, but I r
