Although ToadHall 's solution brought back my calendar, I'm not getting
any notifications of events. I have check that thunderbird preferences
are all set to do notifications.

I had removed the storage.sdb file to be able to add new events to the
empty calendar; when I restored storage.sdb; this worked for me. Thanks
