I simply attempted to launch the program from the "Applications" menu on

I got rhythmbox to play .pls just fine. The problem was that my firewall
was preventing the cast from working. I opened the port in my firewall
and it worked fine. I don't know that this is related to your problem,
but it might help.

I get the same. If I select the "don't delete" option when the error
pops up, then log out, and log back in the same account. I do not have
this same error. It is only after I reboot, or shutdown.
