Hey this bug persists in Lucid. However even if I set XAA in the
xorg.conf the problem doesn't go away.

Absolutely the same. I needed to set XAA in xorg.conf for youtube page to
render properly(and some other pages).
I also have an x1800xl ati card.

I have the exact same problem on Ubuntu 9.04 64bit and 9.10 alpha 3
32bit(livecd). My gpu is an x1800xl.
The problem goes away if I use XAA.
Furthermore I tested it with packages provided by Volden's PPA and the problem
persists in git.
The packages I downloaded are:
1. xserver-xorg-video-ati_6
Thank you it worked!
Note: I had also removed network-manager just before using this. So if
this doesn't work try to remove networkmanager too.

have installed Intrepid Beta amd64.
Anyways, when I use the "pon" command as a normal user it says : "Error: only

The Hardy Heron Alpha2 64bit works fine.
But I am disappointed that the kernel gutsy is still broken and I am
forced to use "all_generic_ide" to make it work.
