On every system I have upgraded from 22.04 to 24.04 cryptsetup has been removed
or marked for removal by apt.
All of these systems have some encrypted partitions and are either unbootable
after it is removed or you are unable to access these partitions without
manually rein

Inspirion 1501 laptops that occurred around the same time after a recent
update.

upgrade (due to "grey button on discovering hidden networks" bug), network
manager cannot obtain a IP address via DHCP. iwconfig show that my computer is
associated to the desired network, but I must run "dhclient wlan0"

Since I upgraded to 9.04, my machine NEVER wakes up correctly from
either "suspend" or "hibernate".
But it kind of wakes up : for instance, if I had music running at the
time of "hibernate", when I try to get the machine to wake up, it will

Kubuntu 8.10 (32-bit) doesn't appear to have the same problem. (But it

I started over with a fresh VMX, and booted the Ubuntu live CD. The

IIRC this bug has caused me to dump guarddog and use firestarter instead since
then.
This workaround has worked for me and this bug did not occur again.

the original intention of upstream has been to prevent ssh access where
the user has been locked.
Maybe a solution is to advance the patch to expire the account only if
$USER != root
That way the original intention is preserved without this somewhat
regression.

I didn't have the problem with v2.14.4-3.
I can't open my svg files with firefox, eog and others.
The thumbnails in Nautilus are working.

same problem here, k3b claims faild verification but manually created

modelines have repeatedly being a root cause of security flaws inside vim.
That's why they are *now* being disabled by default in debian.
imho:
If you want them, i suggest to activate them in ~/.vimrc
...and the doc should be updated accordingly.

Hi,
I think I had a similar issue. I connect often to a DHCP wireless LAN at the
University , but i need sometimes also to connect to a nother Ap wlan to
control a robot. So I wrote 2 scripts in order to switch from one to another.
When I started at the robot WLAN all was OK (this LAN had st
ui Luka that has been kinda fast. ;)
just a few comments:
For Hardy i suggest to update kalarm to version 1.4.21 = latest stable upstream
which allready includes the fix for this.
For gutsy 3 reasons for an SRU:

I am able to reproduce this bug now:
create new user = new profile
xterm *not installed* = default in Kubuntu
login, open kalarm, open options dialog and press ok
Kalarm will immediately crash
the same proceduer *with* xterm installed does not crash kalarm.
