affects me too on debian scratch/sid. all the "fixes" from google appear to be disable nouveau (nomodeset) and install the proprietary drivers, which isn't helpful. i can still ssh into the box, but anything that was running a gui has crashed (defunct), here's some output i got in dmesg: [116651
