it happens all the time with live cd and with the complete installation.
I Have to use ndiswrapper and the windows .inf to get it work.

Same problem here. CPU fan always on with Feisty.The same happen with
fglrx or open source driver. I use the laptop always in powersave mode,
bay the fan never stop. With edgy it started every 20 minutes for 2.
Even if the cpu is in idle for hours the behavior is the same.

I have the same issue with firefox without compiz (AiGLX enable + radeon
driver). The CPU goes to 80-90% but no slow refresh with the internet pages.
With compiz (freedesktop) from repository or build by me i see slow scrolling
of pages with firefox, nautilus, gedit and acrobat.
