Title:
CVE-2017-6507: apparmor service restarts
I can confirm that this bug has begun to affect me again in Natty. The
patch provided for the bug in Maverick now only results in freezing my
system.

I'm having exactly the same issue. On restart the double menu is not
there, but after a state change it appears. I'm running a eeepc 1005HA.
I recently upgraded from 10.10 and I have all updates installed.

This bug has been happening to me as well consistently since I updated
to 11.04 beta. Even though I've updated all the packages I still have
the issue.

I tried the fix that Guy suggested in December but I continued to have
the same problems with the erratic panics as a side effect of the patch.
However, the compat-wireless package that IMBECIL suggested fixed the
channel lock problem and the freezing problem, so now my machine works
great. Thanks,
I'll give this a try! However, I've been running Maverick since October
and had the first crash five minutes after following Needlez6's
instructions, so I'm almost certain that this is a result of the
patching process. I'll post back early this week! Thanks for the
suggestion, Guy.

I just installed the patch following the directions outlined above and
it solved the problem perfectly however a side effect has appeared. That
is, whenever I'm connected to a network for about two minutes, Maverick
freezes completely. I installed the patch last night and the freezing
has continued
The drive works fine on Windows Vista Ultimate x64 here, both burning, reading,
and rebooting with some media inside.
On Arch it seemed to work fine on a little test I did a little while ago with
polling disabled. Only tested reading though (both of CDs and DVDs). And it
still doesn't work with
Found a few things, not sure it it's helpful or not.
First, hal fails after the drive locks spinning (won't stop or start correctly).
Second, seems to lock at POST.
Third, tried Archlinux's CDs (the two last versions), locks after a little
while using them too.
