I had the same problem with white borders, when I maximized the window or
resized it to a size larger than my screen, the borders and title bar became
thick and white. But with the normal size everything was fine. I have Radeon
7500 on my laptop, and gutsy is installed. Everything was fine but a

emerald crashed with no reason. I did not change anything in compiz or
change any visual effects, it was working fine but all of a sudden it
crashed.
