It happened to me, tried with Sun Java 6, and it ahppened also with
that. The solution for me was to remove the xulrunner 1.9.3, installed
from the Mozilla Daily PPA to run Firefox 3.7. Try removing that package
and see if eclipse still crashes after that.

This is fixed now, after selecting a string, I have middle-click pasted
in the same epiphany window - both in the same tab, and in another tab
too. Tried with epiphany 2.30.2 from lucid repos, with lucid.

Would you like to see Ctrl+Enter on the menu having the same behaviour
as Ctrl+Enter from the url bar, like opening the selected URL in a new
background tab? Currently Ctrl + Clicking Bookmarks does this, but I
haven't found a way to do it with keyboard only.

pressing the Backspace key, that's right, but there is a shortcut
assigned, alt+left.

There is no History menu nor Clear History in Preferences/Privacy, but
after accessing the History Window from the Go Menu->History or the
Ctrl+H key shortcut, History can be Cleared with Edit->Clear History.

Could you try to reproduce this with the latest epiphany? I have tried
all three pages, and all three worked just fine. The third one consumed
even more CPU when opened with Chromium than when opend with Epiphany -
because of the flash video ad on the right side.

highlighting for me, if before that I haven't set it manually. But after
setting the highlighting mode manually, it did not change on save as
