In maverick I have had this bug happen to me on several occasions on boot up.
logging out and logging back in fixes the problem.
I have noticed this only happens to me after updating but only after an update
where it say ureadahead will be re-profiled at next
boot up . Since noticing this every

Same problem here. Deleting the bookmarks database - places.sqlite fixed the
problem for a while but now it back again.
Could be a problem with this database getting corrupted.

Upgrading to mountall - 2.15 in proposed fixed the problem for me. Disk check
now takes less than 30 secs. compared to about 30 minutes before. New package
has not caused any problems that I'm aware of.

Never saw plymouth at all on boot or shutdown just a few colored pixels at the
top of the screen and when a disc check was being done there was no message at
all just a minute longer of black screen.
Using fix #77 fixed these problems.

After searching other bug reports I'm beginning to believe this is a
problem could be with the new kernel as keytouch worked just fine in
hardy . https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281993 shows there seems to be a
problem with multimedia keyboards.

Same problem here. Selecting shutdown or restart will cause all panels
and icons to disappear leaving only the wallpaper on the desktop and
then it just stops there till I kill X. Sytem shuts down normally if
shut by teminal command .

minutes after trying to unlock it will finally unlock. If I force quit
and try to restart firestarter again after a wait of about five minutes
