Sorry for beeing quiet. This bug has been observed in Ubuntu Gutsy. FYI,
there is a related bug report in Fedora's bug tracker:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=431178
However, I think the proposed fix is wrong. The problem should really be
fixed in the application, not in GStreamer (s
I just checked cdplay (a command line tool) and amarok, both seem to
play fine without going to maximum speed. I wonder if gnome-cd, sound-
juicer and RB all use gstreamer?

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rhythmbox
When I play an audio CD in Rhythmbox, the CD drives spins up to maximum
speed, causing serious noise. This is very disturbing, especially since
the lowest speed is enough for CD playback. I can force it to 1x speed

Binary package hint: tailor
Tailor used to work with Mercurial repositories in Feisty, but after
upgrading to Gutsy (with Mercurial 0.9.4) it crashes (see below). Seems
like something got out of sync there. Using the current tailor package

Thank you. I think you are right. I thought I remember that such a case
was showing somewhat better results, but that might have been luck, or
maybe it wasn't the debuginfo-lacking binary at the stack top. Please
close this bug then.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gdb
When debugging some code in gdb, the resulting stacktraces on segfaults
tend to be useless when the code that is segfaulting has no
debuginformation. In such a case, the _complete_ stack looks screwed. An
example should explain the situation.

This appears in Ubuntu (Gnome) for me. The whole screen goes black, and
the screensaver only fills the upper left 640x480 rectangle of my
1024x768 screen. Interestingly enough, it seems that _sometimes_ the
screensaver switches to fill the entire screen at some point (after
running > 0.5h), but eve

I try to startup the edgy beta desktop CD. This process freezes when the

One more thing. I'm developing Cairo based AWT peers for GNU Classpath.
There I'm seeing similar problems, more specifically when drawing
textures and gradients using the corresponding Cairo functions. I
suppose the problems with the Ubuntu theme might also come from Cairo?

I just wanted to note that I tried out the newer 6.5.8 version of the
