Same problem is affecting KDE4/Plasma users. I can produce the above
from Mageia 5 (KDE4/Plasma) but under the Ubuntu-based Bodhi Linux,
using Enlightenment the code works fine. Also fine under Windows 7. See

Thanks pmp6nl. I would just like to add that I'm now fully up and
running with 11.04 64bit on my Toshiba laptop with its HD3400.
The trick was adding "nomodeset" on the grub boot line, which finally
got me to the log in screen. Following that I have installed all

I simply can't use Ubuntu as long as this bug remains. Some pointers as
to what to look for in the source code might help if someone had a bit
of time to move the problem forwards a bit. I had a look myself but
would need a couple of weeks at least, which I don't have. Simpler to

Obviously *similar* to other bug reports. Put the system into hibernate, then
restart -- cannot reconnect to Ubuntu One. Battery not dead, system not crashed.
Ubuntu 9.10, Toshiba Satellite Pro, using ethernet only (wireless disabled).
Ubuntu 8.10 (Ubuntu Studio) -- Users and Groups just wiped my group

else is broken: Wireless, sound; nothing has the right permissions to
run. I go from a fully working system to a complete wreck just by adding
