I just added a new mail account to Thunderbird, which requires copy
mailing lists messages on my local folders, and this bug is driving me
crazy. I see there is no progress at all in spite of the fact that it
seems to affect quite a number of people, is there a corresponding bug
open upstream?

I can confirm this bug. Never had problems with past releases of Ubuntu,
with 10.04 the game starts but is actually unplayable: it's awfully slow
and jerky, in crowded areas there are frequent freezes, many graphic
objects are invisible or 'twisted', inside FBs (dungeon instances) this

I have the same problem with a Sony Vaio VGN-FW21E, when shutting down
the system freezes at the "deactivating swap" stage.

I actually did a dist-upgrade on both of my computers (desktop and laptop), so
didn't have a chance to verify if the problem is still there. Furthermore, I
