It isn't clear to me what the final resolution is. Is -remote going to
stay, or will it be removed?
-remote has been part of the API for quite a long time. Pulling it
without an _extended_ notification (on the order of a year, say) will
inconvenience a lot of people. Firefox and Thunderbird are
What resolution are you printing the test page at? The R200 should be

The attachment indicates that you have an old version. Could you take a
look at the modification time of
/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertogutenprint.5.1 and
/usr/lib/cups/driver/gutenprint.5.1?
Also make sure that you're using the 5.1.0 PPD file, not the 5.0 one.

Please try the latest CVS repository in both borderless and non-

A couple of questions:
1) Does this happen with Gutenprint 5.0.0, or only with the latest CVS
(pre 5.1.0)?
2) Does this happen in borderless mode, normal (non-borderless) mode, or
both?
I'd like to try to fix this before 5.1.0 release, but I really need
answers to these questions...

Is this only happening with CX4800/DX4800 and similar printers?

Krister, when you use Gutenprint you need to select the Borderless
option to print to the edge.
The very latest CVS -- in the last 30 minutes -- has an additional
change that by default does not crop output when borderless isn't
selected (it will shrink the output slightly). But if you really wan

describe the exact problem?

It looks like Ubuntu is using a snapshot of Gutenprint where the
borderless functionality is broken (so was the non-borderless, for that
matter). Ubuntu needs to update to a newer CVS snapshot or back off to
5.0.
I'm hoping to release 5.1.0 soon, which will also have improved CUPS 1.2
