I am not sure if this is the right package, but the new clock with multiple
time zones puts Nashville TN in the wrong time zone. The gnome clock puts
Nashville in Eastern Standard Time, or Kentucky/Monticello. In fact, Nashville
is in Central Time, or Indiana/Chicago.

Problem started occurring for me when upgrading edgy server to latest kernel
(2.6.17-12-server).
No errors before upgrade, even with 296 day uptime.
Within 1 day of uptime, here is the output:

If you load compizConfig and then unselect the viewport switcher plugin, the
desktop switching will start working with the mousewheel.
This is the Oct 8th build of Ubuntu.

Problem also occurs for me on Kubuntu 7.04 Herd 2, with all current updates.
Laptop is Compaq Armada M700. CPU Scaling to Performance was only change to
power-manager. Problem occurs when laptop is on for more than 24 hours.

Aha, this all makes sense. I can work around it, but you're right, it's
horribly confusing for new users.
What would be best IMHO, is if the suite of apt frontends (synaptic,
update-manager, etc) handled the "407 Proxy auth required" response
gracefully and prompted for credentials.
