"Ubuntu" logo with a few colored dots underneath does not appear to
scale to the proper screen resolution, and so on large monitors it

I have embedded intel graphics. When I suspend or hibernate, the
computer doesn't power off. I see a blank screen, backlit, and nothing
happens. I must then hold the power button down to reboot. Very
inconvenient.
