This issue does also pop up on livecds, though its hardly as critical of
an issue, as it does not stop it from booting since you can just reboot

I believe he means that is a way to cause the bug. However, following
those instructions hasn't caused the bug for me, i've only had this bug
happen twice since my upgrade, and i'm not sure how to reproduce it.
