Tried to re-enable proprietary fglrx driver using hardware drivers application.
It had been working before but was likely disabled when a new Linux kernel was
installed by the updater.
When using the app, got "ubuntu ati driver installArchives() failed"

For the missing dao problem (Brasero now seems to have a few other issues I
have not seen before) I have found you can use gconf-editor to set the dao
flag. It is located under apps/brasero/config and is a checkbox.
This is easier than using wodim from the command line
