In my home network a used to have my SSID hidden.
With this, knetwork-manager has always been unable to authenticate and/or find
the SSID.
When i enabled the SSID broadcast, this problem got solved.
Gnome network manager doesn't have this problem.

You can activate the option "Support msn groups friendly names" under
Connection, on the Preferences panel. I think this should be enabled by
default anyway. Regarding the commands problem, you must use a double
slash, telling emesene that you actually want to send that to the chat
window.
