Thanks, Rocko. I used the script and it worked! Furthermore, as my Skype
icon is not showing up if I add Skype to startup programs, I've saved
your script to a .sh file with +x chroot permissions and added it to
Startup applications.
Now I get a Skype icon everytime I boot up. Thanks again! :)

Well, if that works for you, then It can be a temporary script (I'm
guessing). But killing skype and restarting doesn't work for me. I've
set that skype automatically opens in the 2nd working space, and that's
the only way I can get to it. If I close the skype window, it's gone for
good. BUT, even
Vanuch, what do you mean by running skype with a timeout? I started
having problems with skype notification icon when I started installing
extensions for gnome-shell and updates. Haven't the time to downgrade
and check one-by-one to find the root of the problem.
