I've reinstalled ubuntuone and now nothing is working anymore. Starting
ubuntuone-preference as root opens the Create Ubuntu One Account. From
there I choose that I already do have an account and enter my
credentials. Then I get told that to wait for the verification email.
I'm never getting that.

my laptop and use line-in, I can record it. Using the microphone, sound-
recorder does even not start recording.
Everything is unmuted.
This fixed my mic issue
add the below line into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1
Mic volume works correctly under sound recorder, however it's incredible
low on Skype. On GMAIL it's a bit better

I do have similar issue. Sound works fine, but I cannot record anything
over microphone. It works over line-in. I've tested with a Mandriva Live
CD and there recording works. I'm using pulse. Laptop is an ACER Aspire
5538 and the soundcard choosen is snd_hda_intel

I've now tried all possibilities I've found on forums and by googling,

It's impossible to enable somehow DMA on my SATA harddisk. hdparm
doesn't work and it's not for SATA drive. I've found sdparm, but was not
successfully to somehow enable DMA. Maybe I'm missing something to
enable it.

the problem is not only the driver in dapper with the pc freeze, but also the
latest CVS version doesn't work properly.
For me with a Netopia USB wifi stick the cvs version is working a bit. Means
after several minutes connection get lost. The driver even in cvs are not
really working.
