I'm using 180.44 version of nvidia driver and Jaunty with all updates
and I still have this problem, using either vim or gvim. If I disable
compiz the problem does not happen.

I have a Asus laptop and I'm using Intrepid with 2.6.27-3-generic
kernel. Now when I turn off the switch, the bluetooth led is turned off
too. But the hotkeys to turn off wireless and bluethooth are not
working.

I had the same problems after the update, but doing this (as Alberto
Milone sad):
get to /var/lib/dkms/nvidia/ and start removing any directory which
starts with a number e.g. 173.14.09, 177.67, 177.68 but not
kernel-2.6.27-2-generic-i686.
then type:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-177-ke
I forgot to mention: the key was properly configured even with the
crash.

After installing the debug symbols I've figured out that the problem was

restart X (Press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace)
The X started properly and the ++ worked fine.

I have HardInfo 0.4.2.1.svn30042007 and I get the same errors here:
I'm using gutsy with all recent updates

Sorry about the confusion. This happened because I had a file named
email.py inside the directory that I was calling the interpreter
This was the problem

Strange... If I call /usr/bin/python I get this error, but if I use
/usr/bin/python2.5I don't have this error.
PS: I have only python2.5 installed
