I have the same problem as TomaszChmielewski. When I agree to report a
problem, apport-gtk process starts and then another one starts, and then
another... It seems that apport is causing the problems other apports
are trying to report.
Because of that most (maybe all? apport doesn't report whether
OK, here's output from xev. I pressed the increase brightness
combination twice, and decrease combination once. It seems that the
first increase resulted in one even but all further presses resulted in
two events:
MappingNotify event, serial 40, synthetic NO, window 0x0,
request MappingKeyboar
It worked perfectly (ie. incremented by one from 0 to 15) in regular
12.04 installed from alternate cd from Ubuntu's website. The computer
came with Windows pre-installed.
More than that, it still works perfectly during boot, before the
graphical interface comes up. I have whole-disk encryption en

options snd-hda-intel model=laptop-dmic
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and without.

I haven't tested with the mainline kernel (yet, will do later) but it's
still an issue with 3.2.0-27-generic. Right now CPU is ~395% idling (two
cores with hyper-threading), disk reads and writes are next to zero but
the load is 1.7.

the load remains relatively high. On 3.2.0-17 it used to be barely above
0, now it rarely drops below 1. Powertop also reports high power usage
by the CPU (~8W). The processor is 2.4GHz Intel i5-2430M and
I jumped to conclusion too fast. The bug is still there, automatic
configuration just works sometimes.

After recent updates the problems seem to have gone away. I don't know
which update did it but it wasn't networking-manager.

I have the same problem -- cannot connect to the network with radvd and
IPv6 configuration in network-manager set to automatic. It's not just
IPv6, network-manager fails to connect at all overy any protocol when
IPv6 configuration is set to automatic. For a while restarting network-
manager (servic
eugenemarshall, I haven't noticed any performance drop, I don't use
compiz though. The only minor problem is the splash screen during boot
which seems not to fit the monitor.

My computer (Inspiron 600m) running Ubuntu 10.04 updated from 9.10 is
still affected by this, I can suspend but cannot resume. There is no
flashing capslock, just black screen. Same problem was present in Ubuntu
9.10. Suspend worked just fine OOTB in Ubuntu 9.04.
