Testing again with latest version of network-manager from PPA repository
shows that Internet connections works (after applying the previously
attached nozomi patch).
There is also Linux kernel bug registered at

Some things that can be said about current status of the connection
issue after some testing:
1. It is not possible to connect using network-manager trhough Gnome nm-
applet.
