Yes it is possible, but with hacks. GMPC has a copy paste system that
works better. Not this is not going to be in the next release, and yes
this is the wrong bugtracker.

Please file the bug report in the right location. The gmpc developer
(me) does and cannot read the bugtracker of every single distribution
available. that is just crazy.
So if there is a problem with the program itself, not the package. Use
the _right_ bugtracker.

There seems to be nothing with mpd.
using this audio_output (I am not sure the previous one is correct.)

In gutsy 0.14.0 is available. This version is outdated (0.15.1 is
currently stable, and there will be a new release in the next few weeks)
and no longer maintained/supported by the developer (me).

We recently found a bug in mpd that allowed somebody to remotely crash mpd.
We just released a bugfix release (0.12.2) and advice to update this package
asap.
