I did a fresh install of 10.04 and was trying to install the ubuntu-
restricted packages from the Ubuntu software center. The install failed
and the application crash notification came up and prompted me to file a
bug report.
ProblemType: Package
Try adding "options snd-hda-intel model=asus-laptop" in the alsa-base
conf. It worked on my Toshiba L30.

Installed Ubuntu 7.10 on my Toshiba L30, celeron using downloaded installing
CD. Too long booting time and I do not see the Ubuntu booting image, just a
blank screen. Takes more than 5 min to reach login screen. Even at shutdown I
do not see the Ubuntu shutting down graphic
