from 11.04. People here are saying they deleted *all* their Firefox
plugins - does one really need to delete plugins which have nothing to
do with flash? Also, as far as I know flashplugin-installer downloads
the actual flash plug

Restarting alsa-utils or reloading snd-hda-intel did not work for me.
sudo /sbin/alsa force-reload after resuming from suspend got the sound
back.
This is on Kubuntu 8.04 on an Acer Aspire 4720. Relevant lines from

Isn't it _essential_ that a user properly ends an ssh session when done,
on a public computer? Otherwise the next user of the computer may get
read and write access to the first user's personal data.

Forgot to add, sound did work after resuming from suspend on the same
laptop with Kubuntu Gutsy. Though Gutsy needed manual installation of a
newer version of ALSA from source to get sound working in the first
place.

An important part of using the fish:// kioslave to transfer files is
logging out of the ssh session, specially when working on a computer
other than your own. There is no obvious way to do t
"Wishlist" isn't fair I think. Ubuntu is supposed to "just work", out of
the box. New users may not know about removing the CD from
/etc/apt/sources.list (or doing the same from Adept/Synaptic). If the
user has an internet connection, it *should* offer a choice, instead of
stubbornly demanding a CD
